For the past 40 years I’ve had a passion for creating with wood and various materials. After couple decades of designing and completing various size projects and pieces for myself and others, I felt it was time to finally pursue my longtime dream and started FZL Designs.
My creativity is inspired by history and the nature around me. The color and shape of an oak leaf in early fall, a pin stripe pattern on an art deco safe, the feel and look of various boards and woods. These things inspire me to create very distinctive unique products and designs
Process
I start most of my projects the same way, a simple sketch, with notes or requirements of the piece. If required I complete a detailed sketch as I begin selecting materials for the piece. Other times I let the materials speak for itself in the design of a piece. Any piece that doesn’t meet my strict quality standards is scrapped, redone to my high standards. Only after that scrutiny will I say a piece is complete and ready for my customers.

I create pieces you can enjoy for years to come. If you ever encounter a design flaw or craftsmanship issue, I will fix or replace the piece–you only pay shipping.
